Each Sunday we select someone from our parish to read verses from the Old Testament, New Testament, a Psalm and the Prayers of the People. It is an honor to be chosen to participate in the service. Members are also asked to be ushers and greeters. Greeting is a wonderful way to meet newcomers and ushers are responsible for passing the plate and taking the sacraments forward.
Along with the readers, parish members also participate with Holy Eucharist by being a crucifer, torch bearer and acolyte during the procession into the church. On special occasions we also require a thurifer to disperse incense, These servers will be sitting with the priest at the front of the church during the service.
Those Who Serve
Those serving on the Alar Guild help prepare the altar and appointments ready for Sunday’s service.
ukulele choir
Not long ago a group of aspiring musicians started a ukulele group at St. Andrew’s for fun and fellowship. With the help of a grant from the St. Andrew’s Foundation, our budding stars purchased ukuleles and music stands determined to have fun and learn to play.
Now, the ukulele choir plays “Happy Birthday” when parishoners have a birthday that week. Plus, the ukulele choir currently works on music for special occasions.
